A bit of history
The founder of the Psy Lime project is IT entrepreneur Dmitry Aylevsky, who began developing the project at the end of 2024. The Psy Lime project was first published on the internet in May 2025.
Initially, the project was supposed to be called “LimeTest.” This name was intended to highlight that the website specializes in psychological tests. The “Lime” part of the name was not meant to carry any semantic meaning and was added solely to justify the simple lime-shaped logo and to guarantee a unique and available domain name.
The name “LimeTest” limited the website’s scope and created challenges for scaling the project. Therefore, the project’s founder, Dmitry Aylevsky, later changed the working name of the project to “Psy Lime.” The “Psy” part is an abbreviation of the word “psychology” and indicates the general theme of the website.
Quality and reliability of the tests
The algorithms of most of our tests are based on freely available written tests developed by professional psychologists. When we use materials from external sources, we always provide a reference to the original source in the “Sources” section.
Some of the tests presented on Psy Lime were developed from scratch by professional psychologists specifically for Psy Lime. After publishing such tests, we collect and analyze their statistical data to improve the accuracy of the tests.
